About four months ago, Monica Koll was struck by a vehicle while riding her bicycle. The injuries were quite serious, doctors unsure if she'd be able to use her limbs as she had sustained a severe spinal cord injury.
Ms. Koll's family and friends assisted with her rehab as they could and her boyfriend, Nick Zaunbrecher, was also by her side.
THIS IMAGE was taken on Sunday, February 24, 2013 of Ms. Koll crossing the finish line with assistance from Mr. Zaunbrecher. It was a half marathon where Nick pushed her wheelchair for 13 miles and helped her walk across the finish line.
