You are familiar with the phrase, "Eddie Would Go". It's on bumber stickers, t-shirts and is the reason we wait for winter surf to rise beyond 20' high and consistent in Waimea Bay so we can call in sick from work for the big wave contest!
"Eddie Would Go" is to remember the great water man Eddie Aikau, the first lifeguard officially hired for the North Shore (Waimea Bay) and one of the original Hokule'a crew members.
"Hawaiian: The Legend of Eddie Aikau" is a documentary that debuted at the 2013 Maui Film Festival this past June. It will shown as part of ESPN Network's "30 for 30" series (you gotta DVR that stuff! great sports documentaries!). The article says it will air on Tuesday, October 1st on ESPN at 8pm EST so *fingers crossed* that works out 2pm HI!
